What is Reconcilation?
The sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as confession) is the act of honestly confessing our sings to a priest and receiving forgiveness through God's mercy which Christ won for us on the cross. Through a priest verbally forgives our sins, he is acting as an intermediary and we believe only God can forgive our sins.
Why is Reconciliation Important?
Reconciliation is important because it reconcilies and restores us to God's grace and friendship. It heals brokeness and renews our relationships within our Church, home and community.
Who Can Go to Reconciliation?
All baptized Catholics may receive the sacrament of Reconciliation. It is especially necessary for those who have committed serious sin to be reconciled prior to receiving the Holy Eucharist.
